Share Horse Stuff

Sorry I haven't posted in ages, I've been ridiculously busy doing art coursework and what not. I thought I would talk about my share horse Murray. If you are not horsey, I'm sorry but some people are including myself so I just thought it would be an interesting topic to write on, and if you are not into horses but would like to know a little about my horsey life, then keep reading!

I currently share Murray, a skewbald, 15.2hh(ish), lazy, riding school horse. That is what he looks like to the right.

I share him once every two weeks, and I have a riding lesson at the same place but sometimes on a different horse on the other week. He is lovely, a 'wouldn't hurt a fly' type. He can be a bit funny though, for example, in the stable, you can't move quickly or suddenly as he threatens to bite and when riding him he is ridiculously slow at times. Also, if you try to use the schooling whip to get him moving a bit (only a light tickle behind the leg), he just resists it and throws the occasional buck. He is such a sweetie though and behaves very nicely on the ground. He does jump but it seems to be more upward than forward with feels very giraffe like! He goes hunting occasionally and is apparently a lot faster then, he must be more a happy hacker.

For my riding, I have been riding for 8 years, although I really don't look it, it looks like I've been riding for about 1 or 2. I don't want to be the best rider though, I just want to enjoy it an have a fun time. I have ridden at 4 yards and I've never owned or shared/loaned a horse before so sharing Murray, despite it being a riding school share and not very often, is a big deal for me. I've been looking for a share for over 3 years so I'm very glad I've found him.

Here is another picture, for want of a better image of me riding. (Sorry about the pink, this was when my camera was on it's last legs)

The horse I'm riding here is Coco. He is a livery at the yard but he is used in the riding school when his owner can't ride him. He is roughly 17hh and is black with a white belly and 3 white legs and a semi-bald face. He hunts with his owner a lot and he does get very strong so arm muscles are needed with him. He is a Jekyll and Hyde type horse in the way that one day he will be whizzing around the school and jumping anything in sight, and the next day he will refuse to do anything more than a slow trot and just has no impulsion whatsoever. He is a darling though and the only time I have fallen off of him was when he spooked at a barking dog, completely not his fault.

Anyhow, that is my horsey life so far and I will keep you posted. (Sorry if my grammar is a bit iffy today, I've eaten far too many Doritos at my friends place and the chemicals are doing my head in)

Diary(ish) for 10th February 2013

So, today has been pretty unproductive.
I have a habit of waking up as late as possible at the weekend, today being 11:15am, and I felt awful, this chests infection isn't going without a fight.
Roughly 15 episodes of Top Gear and the Harry Potter box set has been watched through this week so I'm pretty telly eyed at the moment. The Simpsons are getting the run through today.

I'm ridiculously behind on coursework so I'm stressing out big time! My art final piece (acrylic painting on canvas) is due to be finished next Wednesday and I'm not even half way through, my graphics final design is to be finished by the end of next week and I still need to complete a German writing test which I haven't even started to prepare for. So all in all, my GCSEs will be failed.

Another thing I am pissed about is the weather. We were promised snow and its now chucking it down with rain. This might not sound like a big deal to you but I bloody love snow. I turn I into a big kid. It's so lovely sledging down the hill, screaming 'GET OUT THE WAY' as hundreds (literally) of others are doing the same, its so novel. Also, I don't feel the cold much so that is an added bonus.

Anyhow, that's enough of me complaining so have a lovely week or half-term if you have it next week. :-)

TAG: Favourites

Seeing as this is a new blog, I guess it would be a good idea to tell you a bit about myself, and seeing as I am rubbish at that kind of thing, here is a favourites TAG to start it off:

Food: Ben & Jerry's Cookie Dough ice cream ANY DAY. I'm not joking, I could have it in a snowstorm and be happy

Drink: Shloer White Grape and Elderflower. It's just so refreshing and I end up fighting with everybody for it.

Animal: Horses, horses and more horses. I'm sorry it's such a 'little girl you will grow out of it' type thing to some people, but they are such talented and graceful animals, you can never grow out of loving horses. I could go on but I shan't bore you.

Person you know: It would have to be my friend Ellie. She is such a lovely person and I have known her nearly all my life. She's just awesome.

Person you don't know: Charlotte Dujardin (Olympic dressage rider). She is such a riding inspiration to me and her performance at the 2012 Olympics was just stunning. Her horse Valegro is pretty sexy too.

Movie: Les Miserables!! Bloody hell I was crying all the way through this film.  It is so emotional but it is just so amazing.

Book: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It is so well written and the Harry Potter series has been with me for all of my childhood. It is the one series of films/books that get better with each one.

Song: Anything by The Wombats. I just can't pick anything out, they have such upbeat and witty music and I went through a phase of only listening to them for about 2 months. Murph, Dan and Tord are just amazing.

Item of Clothing: People will probably murder me for saying this but it will have to be my Topshop onesie. It's just so comfortable and warm. I'm wearing it now, as I am off school due to a chest and throat infection. So cosy!

Beauty Product: Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. It just works so brilliantly and you can rub it all over your eyes and no irritation will happen. It pretty much dissolves make up and grime without dissolving your face.

Place: London. I go there so much, most weekends coming to think about it, and it is just so amazing. I was born there and I have family there so it is a key place in my life. I love the busyness of it in a way because it has so many different people and areas, it's brilliant.

Season: Autumn. It has the potential for warmth but it can be frosty as well. I just find it a really pretty month.

Time of year: CHRISTMAS. I turn into a big kid at christmas and I just love the whole seasonal happiness that it comes with. The present giving and receiving is also a bonus as well.

Not my first jump (I don't have a photo of that)

Memory: The first time I jumped on a horse. It felt like I was flying and I was on my favourite horse also. It was just perfect.

Age: 13. I had no exams that year and I just had a really relaxing year. I also made a lot of friends that year so I actually has a social life then

Colour: Blue. I swear 3/4 of the clothes I own are blue. I find it a really relaxing colour and, I guess I'm kind of attracted to that colour more than any other.

Word: I'm going to be really boring here and say, I don't have one, sorry!

Quote: 'The way I see it, every life is a pie of good things and bad things. The good things don't always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things or make them unimportant' The Doctor

Hello!

Hey! I guess this is my chance to introduce myself to you.

My name is Eleanor, I am 15 and I will be blogging about anything and everything to those who can be bothered to read it. I love horses (I have riding lessons), clothes (I wear them) and just anything a regular teenager would, except Justin Bieber (ugh).

I am quite weird, a massive introvert and I am not popular at school in the slightest, but I guess I sort of like that in a funny way because at least I'm not boring, or at least I hope I'm not. I am a lonely only child but I guess I should count that as a blessing according to my friends with siblings. I am 5ft11, have an unhealthy addiction to the internet and I have no self esteem or self liking what so ever.

Here is my face if you wanted to see what I look like

I guess that is me then... It's kind of sad that I can condense myself into a couple of short paragraphs but anyhow, hello :-)

Twitter: @elisacunt (I told you I didn't like myself)
Tumblr: gall0p-free ( It's equestrian as you can tell so don't bother with it unless you have an interest)
Skype: Eleanor Bergmann
Facebook: (I never use it so there isn't really much point in saying it although it is pretty obvious)
